Two life`s of Costa Rica

Honza Lasko: How i say in last story, big days on the water just should come during last two weeks in Costa Rica. We were in touch with local hero Ferdinad and he show us a trek to Rio Patria. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip. There was really interesting trek. Probably we would never find a river without Ferdinad. After three hours of sliding thru dense rainforest we finally get a small creek, which was tributary of Patria. we paddled this creek for 20 minutes and volume was probably 1cm3 plus. I have to say, that was sometimes super scary. you run blind over drops where is no water, but we did it and before us was seven hours of steep creeking.

Costa Rica adventure

Honza Lasko: We spend four weeks in Costa rica and I have to say that was really cool after all and happy that we go there. We had not good luck for water first ten days, but still a chance to paddle some classics first on pacific site, like Narancha Labirint or some solid runs around Turialba, which is center of white water in Costa rica. After ten days start raining and we thought, that local river can`t never fill up them KORYTA during dry season. So when we pass Toro Amarilo looks there is just perfect level, someone in car said that could be a little more, so we drove on put in and start paddling TIPICAL class ww4+ in Costa rica. Probably after one minut paddling we relised, that water is probably to high. Took us nest 500 meters then we could take a first eddy, between that all us already got some beating in nasty holes. Water was three time more then is upper level. We finish our run to first bridge and took off with all respect, but definitely scary boating. This days Costa rica got flood which flows from CARIBIC.

Chile Update

by Logan Greyling, Chris Baer and Tyler Curtis by Logan Greyling, Chris Baer and Tyler Curtis

Jakub Sedivy:

After I came back from the BC mission with Honza, I spent a month back home and was ready for more paddling. It was getting pretty cold back in good old Europe and I was holding a ticket to Santiago de Chile and sipping a hot wine in Frankfurt waiting for my flight. Perfect. The flight went fine and after a day or so sitting in the plane I was met by my friend from Czech Mira Kodada. The way south was interrupted by a short stop in downtown Santiago and then we were off to Los Quenes to hit the first Chilean rapids. Unfortunately I was not able to get my creekboat on the plane and it turned out Mystics are super hard to get in Chile. Bummer. My friend Todd from Chilean Adventures hooked us up with the boats and we spent the next couple days paddling on the Teno. Great riverrunning with some big class 5 sections at our spring flow. I would say pretty similar to Oetz with not many eddies and it's almost 40kms of it. Great river to warm up.
